A geeky girl living in the big city, making her way, the only way she knows how... no wait, that's The Dukes of Hazzard. Who am I again? Oh yeah, a pop culture obsessed writer, publishing person, and occasional nerd. And I'm getting married. I talk about that, too.

Not about most of you.

But you should know, those of you that I am talking about, that I love you all, and if you continue to force me to choose sides, and make the hard decisions, I will chose not to do it, and won't see any of you. And I don't want that. Talk amongst yourselves. Please.

To which all I can say is Go Girl, and I am proud of you for standing up for yourself.

Nope, I'm sorry, you've got to choose side. It's either "Great Taste," or "Less Filling." You can't have both.

So there.

For some reason, all I can think about right now is Coffee Talk with Linda Richman. "I'm a little verklempt! Talk amongst yourselves..I'll give you a topic: Rhode Island, it's not a road, nor an island...discuss!" I'm sorry that's not more helpful.

I vote that people back the hell off and let you enjoy yourself.

If that isn't an option I vote for the side that makes you smile and laugh the most, whichever that is, as you having fun is the important bit.

"Are we suposed to take all of this fear and greed and hatred seriously? It's like watching dust settle-- it never changes."

It's not enough that people aren't happy unless they have a problem. They want you to have one too.

That's just awful and selfish.

Of course, I might be wrong.

KT, even though I don't know precisely to what you are referring, I think I have an inkling. In my regrettably limited experience with you, you've always been a sweet, kind person, and I can hardly believe that those who are fighting some kind of war and wish you to choose one banner or another will not continue to want to be with you. You're right when you say you don't have to choose sides. You don't. The fallacy of the false dichotomy is one you do not need to fall prey to.

Keep being nice, keep being fun to be around (as if you could do otherwise). I honestly think people will, as Hythian says, "back the hell off."

And, as Mal said, "of course, I might be wrong."

It's almost funny that the same advice applies for both in-game drama (which wasn't what this post was about) and real life stuff (which it was). Anyway, I've learned that the people I want to spend more time with are not the ones that say "Don't hang out with her/him/them, hang out with me/us!" but rather the ones that say "Don't worry about me/us, hang out with her/him/them if you want to." It's too bad some people have to cultivate chaos. Because the truth of it is, yeah, I'll miss the good times if you go, but I won't miss the drama.
