A geeky girl living in the big city, making her way, the only way she knows how... no wait, that's The Dukes of Hazzard. Who am I again? Oh yeah, a pop culture obsessed writer, publishing person, and occasional nerd. And I'm getting married. I talk about that, too.

Viggo!

I've got that holiday spirit, baby! Today is our office Christmas party, and there's a festive air in the hallways. Part of that may be due to our bonus checks, which arrived yesterday, but I'll pretend it's all about the gift-giving!

In other news, like many a fervent geek, I saw The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. Though I did wait a whole day and half to see it after its midnight opening on Tuesday, so that's a kind of willpower. What can I say except... Viggo. Viggo, Viggo, Viggo, Viggo, VIGGO. Yummy! Maureen and I decided they could just make movies of him riding horseback (saw a preview for his new flick Hildalgo), with Orlando Bloom swinging a sword (a la Pirates of the Carribean), and we'd be happy campers. But horniess aside -- wow! What an amazing film, and towering testament to Peter Jackson's skill, and love of the work. It was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Film, and hopefully the Oscars will agree. If only so I get to see Viggo in a tuxedo.

It's like a little poem.
